2014 Ends on a high note for Laughed Till They Cried
Thanks to an interview conducted by Steve Paikin of TVOntario on his very popular public affairs show The Agenda, sales of Laughed Till They Cried have been brisk in the period leading up to the holidays and into the new year.
The 30 minute interview on prime time on TVO on Nov. 25 was a real shot in the arm for both the book---and the author!
It is not easy getting media coverage for books and their authors in this very competitive market and this is particularly true for novels.
Steve’s nightly show has a large and diverse audience, as was reflected in book orders from across the province.
I am especially indebted to Steve Paikin for his personal endorsement of the book. He had read it over the Thanksgiving weekend in preparation for the interview and recommended it to his viewers.
Sales following broadcast of the interview resulted in the need to rush through a second printing to fill orders in time for holiday giving and there was a last minute panic to ensure we had enough copies for a signing already scheduled as a fundraiser for the hospital in my hometown of Napanee on December 16.
No Christmas cards got mailed this year ! I was too busy running to the post office to mail books.
As a result of interest in the book, the Chapters/Indigo store here in Kingston has invited me to do a signing and a date will be set for that soon.
All is well that ends well---and that is certainly the case with how Laughed Till They Cried closed out the old year and brought in the new.
